To Leyburn this weekend to see my son Tom strap on his bass to help Wensleydale Brewery celebrate its 10th anniversary with a Big Brewery Bash.
Tom teamed up with fellow Keighley lad and Gold Jacks musician Stu Burns and G-Man, alias Graham Parker, the incredibly talented, showman drummer from Tom’s other musical combo, Groovy Revolution.
The meteorological tale of woe this summer continued but thankfully it didn’t dampen the spirit of festival-goers (including me) who had a whale of a time listening to some top tunes in the shelter of the brewery’s big gazebo.
Proof, in fact, that you can organise a very enjoyable piss-up in a brewery.
